Felix Cartal
Felix Cartal
Felix Cartal was born with a passion for hard hitting electronic music. With influences ranging from the heavy hitting distortion of The Bloody Beetroots and Boys Noize, to the techno influences of Vitalic, Felix has created an amalgamation of electronic genres which results in a unique listening experience for home and live audiences alike. His distinctive method of incorporating abrasive distortion, intense instrumental build-ups and unique frequency variations in his songs gives Felix a sense of versatility within the electronic scene. This versatility has led Cartal to become one of the leaders of heavy - house – a genre known for its relentless intensity and bass and distortion heavy melodies.
Cartal has created a zealous following through his emergence in the international blog scene, with hard hitting original tracks such as "Moss vs. Trees" and "Parisienne" as well as remixes of pop sensation Ashlee Simpson, MSTRKRFT, electronic rock act Dragonette, and Scottish producer-turned-DJ Alan Hostage. With many commissioned remixes (such as the upcoming Moving Units single) waiting in the wings, Cartal continues to write and produce original and remix material with a professional touch which colleagues and fans regard with great admiration and respect. Consequently, his music has become a staple in the sets of artists such as Tommie Sunshine, Steve Aoki, and many others. As well, he has earned the backing of many prominent artists, including East York powerhouse duo MSTRKRFT.
Cartal represents the new breed of industry players. Owing his success almost entirely to word-of-mouth and blog-endorsements, he is representative of the grassroots music movement that has been created due to the Internet – in a school of artists which includes contemporaries such as LA Riots, Sinden, Lazaro Casanova and Yuksek. Completely distanced from the world of expensive promotional gimmicks and label-hype, Cartal has risen in notoriety solely due to his musical abilities and talent. This new breed of artist, distinguished by exceptional content rather than hype, has begun to show much greater staying power than traditionally promoted artists.
Cartal maintains a rigorous international tour schedule and has brought his brand of techno-esque hard-house to thousands of dance-hungry club kids worldwide. Having already supported acts such as Vitalic, Felix da Housecat, Richie Hawtin, Justice, Busy P, and Steve Aoki, look for Felix Cartal to continue to spread his hard-hitting brand of electronica across the globe.
Sonreal
Sonreal
SonReal is a Juno and MMVA nominated artist whose unique approach to hip-hop has allowed him to sustain a loyal and growing domestic fan base. SonReal's success took shape online when several of his music videos racked up over hundreds of thousands of views on YouTube. He was able to maintain buzz around his music with the release of a number of mix tapes over the years. Where's Waldo?(2011), Words I Said(2012), and Good News (2012). SonReal's mixtapes travelled quickly online and received support from some of the largest hip-hop blogs including 2dopeboyz.com, nahright.com and hiphopdx.com. "Good News" is widely regarded as one of the key stepping-stone in SonReal's career to-date, setting the stage for a recording deal with independent label Black Box Recordings.
Ria Mae
Ria Mae
"Clothes Off" is Ria Mae's first single as part of the Sony Music Canada family. Produced by Juno Award-winning hip-hop artist Classified, "Clothes Off" has already received significant airplay in Ria's hometown of Halifax. Although this is her first single with Sony Music, Ria is by no means a rookie to the recording industry, especially to those on the East Coast. In 2012, Ria Mae won an East Coast Music Award for her self-released debut "Under The Skin", and in 2013 she was nominated for another ECMA - Song of the Year - for her track "Leaving Today". A unique and soulful artist, Ria is ready to step out with a fresh new sound and "Clothes Off" is the first taste of what fans can expect from her forthcoming album.

Ria has just returned from showcasing at The Great Escape Festival in the UK where she received a glowing reception and has also performed at CMJ in New York City; Folk Alliance in Memphis; Canadian Music Week in Toronto; Contact East in Fredericton; and at ECMA Week. She has also shared the stage with Family Of The Year, Xavier Rudd, Buck 65, Classified and opened for Elle King in Montreal (June 1) and Toronto (June 3).
