The Black Dahlia Murder
The Black Dahlia Murder
Having dropped six genre-defining albums The Black Dahlia Murder have made it impossible to discuss melodic death metal without mention of their name. With Everblack, they once again demand the respect of peers and followers alike. "We've always tried to create something that's rooted in classic death metal but at the same time offers something fresh and new, and Everblack is everything that we collectively love about the genre," asserts vocalist Trevor Strnad. "To us, the challenge is always in wanting to make something better than what has come before, and something that will really excite the fans. But I think with all those albums behind us we have become the band fans can depend on, and we couldn't be more proud of what we have achieved with this new record."
Iron Reagan
IRON REAGAN are no strangers to the art of crossover. Comprised of Tony Foresta (vocals), Phil Hall (guitar), Mark Bronzino (guitar), Rob Skotis (bass), and Ryan Parrish (drums), between them they fill, or have filled the ranks of Municipal Waste, Cannabis Corpse and Darkest Hour alike. Now, with their recent signing to metal powerhouse Relapse Records, the hardcore thrash quintet are ready to take their bruising antics to the next level.
Harm's Way
Harm's Way are an absolute force of a band from Chicago, Illinois. They made a name for themselves with masterful releases on the Organized Crime and Closed Casket Activities labels. With their punishing "Isolation" album (Closed Casket, 2011), Harm's Way brutally melded a metal attack, hardcore aggression, and industrial repetition into a new kind of sound. Creating a balance of intensity and originality rare in today's world of music.
Maruta
"Maruta resides somewhere in the musty chasm between grind and death metal. This band has been kicking around since 2005. They took some time off to reflect and are back to churning at speeds burgeoning on the ludicrous, stomping out quicksand sludge, and ripping violent guitar athletics that would make any shred-head jealous." -David Von Bader (Miami New Times)
